Much has also been said about the complexity of senior-level investment banking pay, which now comprises salaries, bonuses and role-related top-ups. Less is known about pay for mid-ranking staff – the vice presidents (VPs) and directors. How much do they earn?
New figures from Emolument.com, the real-time pay bench-marking company, purport to reveal all. Emolument’s figures cover pay for directors and VPs in both M&A and markets divisions of investment banks. As the charts below show, VPs have benefited disproportionately in pay terms since 2011- especially in M&A.
