Hong Kong or Singapore – where should you work as an Asian banking professional? One way to find out is by looking at which city has more people currently working in jobs in your field and at your level.

We’ve scoured our CV database to find candidates based in Singapore and Hong Kong across 10 core banking job functions – from accounting and IT to capital markets and compliance.

We’ve then divided them into six levels of seniority – from the very junior (one to three years’ experience) to the very senior (15 years’ plus) – to produce the six tables below.

Use the tables to see whether Hong Kong or in Singapore has a higher percentage of similarly experienced people doing your job.

If you’re an analyst (one to three years’ experience) in capital markets, for example, there are more jobs (55%) in Hong Kong. Overall, however, many of the roles in our tables are dominated by Singapore-based professionals, especially at the three highest seniority levels.
