Millennium Capital Management, the hedge fund with a reputation for both lifting out investment banks’ traders and churning its money management staff at the mere whiff of underperformance, is hiring again.

Elie Pano, an executive director and emerging markets credit trader at J.P. Morgan, joined Millennium as a portfolio manager earlier this month.

Pano has a focus on Central and Eastern Europe the Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA). He joined J.P. Morgan’s London office in July 2008, having previously worked in trading roles at banks in the Middle East including Shuaa Capital in the UAE and Bank Audi in Lebanon.

It’s also hired Rahul Chopra, a portfolio manager who was latterly at SAC Capital in London before its closure in October 2013. Michael Levett, who was previously working for now-defunct commodity focused hedge fund Clive Capital, also joined in March.

But Millennium has also been letting go of employees. John Goodridge, a former credit prop trader at Citadel and Lehman Brothers who joined Millennium in 2012 as a partner, has now left. So has Asad Abedi, an equity analyst who joined from GLG Partners in 2013 and Namik Immelback, who was focused on fixed income strategy at the hedge fund. Immelback joined from Tudor Investment Corporation’s New York office in 2014.
