What: The ‘week’ kicks off with a day focused on exchange traded funds and concludes with two days of programmes addressing “the most important topics of concern for the region’s institutional investors”.
Why network here: Arguably the most important conference for the Asia asset management sector, this is your chance to meet “investors from the region’s top funds, renowned academics and the most successful asset managers”.

Finnovasia
What: A merger of a “geeky-funky” start-up event and a traditional banking conference, topics on the agenda include the “future of fintech in Asia” and “investing in fintech: lessons from VCs”.
Why network here: Stay on for the “fintech after party” and ask entrepreneurs, investors, and bankers whether it’s really worth quitting finance for a start-up.

Offshore Investment Conference Hong Kong
What: An event for wealth managers wanting to learn new techniques for engaging and retaining global clients, and for complying with a changing regulatory environment.
Why network here: Although its topics are highly technical, the conference also promises plenty of “networking opportunities, which include three course luncheons and an early evening reception”.
When: 15 – 16 June 2016
FT Investment Management Summit: Asia
What: A high-level look at how market turbulence and other challenges (think, robo-advisors) will affect Asia’s investment industry. “Which sectors and markets offer shelter from the storm?”
Why network here: Hobnob with senior people from rival firms who may one day hire you – the event draws hundreds of attendees from across the sector. Speakers include Kevin Anderson, head of investments Asia Pacific at State Street Global Advisors.

Wealth Management and Private Banking Asia 2016
What: An event designed to help private bankers navigate the complexities of dealing with wealthy mainland clients – from RMB further internationalisation to cross-border asset allocation.
Why network here: It won’t just be people from the big private banks in attendance – if you’re planning to move to a family office, that industry will also be well represented.
When: 23 – 24 June 2016
Asia Investment Banking Conference
What: It’s run by students from the London School of Economics, is in its eighth year, and draws senior speakers from Asia’s investment banking sector.
Why network here: This is a prime opportunity for ambitious students aiming for investment banking jobs to network amongst themselves and with experienced industry professionals. Past events have attracted more than 300 students from about 50 top global universities.
When: 5 – 6 September 2016
AVCJ Private Equity & Venture Forum
What: Get the latest insights on the big issues facing private equity and venture capital professionals both in Asia and across the globe.
Why network here: You won’t find more PE people under one roof in Asia – more than 1,000 of them are set to show up. Networking opportunities include: “the AVCJ networking lounge, networking breaks and lunches, the gala cocktail reception and gala dinner”.
