Ivan Dexeus, the former FX sales director who left Credit Suisse in April has found a new role: he’s joined TD Securities in London.
Dexeus joins TD as FX sales director, reporting to Brian Perry, the head of European and Asia Pacific FX at TD Securities. Perry himself joined TD in 2013 from Morgan Stanley.
Dexeus began his career at Goldman Sachs in 2006. He left in 2008 to join Credit Suisse, where he spent the following seven and a half years. At TD Securities, Dexeus’ role will be to expand the bank’s FX franchise across Europe, something which could involve some recruitment in time.
TD Securities employs 119 registered staff in London according to the Financial Conduct Authority Register, down from a peak of 127 in October 2015. Other recent hires include Neil Berner, a former J.P. Morgan trader who spent 15 months at Millennium Capital Partners, Christian Gorsler, a fixed income salesman who previously spent nearly five years at Norddeutsche Landesbank, and Selena Shen, a former associate in rates trading at Credit Suisse.
The new hires confirm that it is possible to find a role in London when you lose your job with a major bank that’s cutting costs – but you may need to go to a lesser known house. As we reportedly previously, several fixed income professionals let go by Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse have found new roles at Scandinavian banks, either in the City or on their home territory.
